Our journey in establishing a BORAN CATTLE STUD

I just wanted to share this beautiful moment with you, as is our custom, we visit the cows in the kraal in the late afternoon after they've eaten their rations as all the animals are more relaxed then. It is also Jeska, Red Bull, Princess and the others time of the day for "LOVE" and "AFFECTION". Princess has been a bit 'offosh' since her daughter was born last week.
The new moms have formed their own nursery and they take turn to look after the calves whilst the others are allowed to forage. Here we have two of our favourite cows posing for a family photo with their calves.

Our son, Jesse has wanted to be a 'vet-farmer' since he was about 4 years old. He loves insects and animals... and pests too. He named DLV08-01, a B96-615 daughter out of Forester Bull, and her name, you guessed: JESKA.
She is a loving and adorable young heifer and has grown into a young lady. We will flush her in August 09 for the first time and hope she will produce embryos like her dam at a lifetime average of 15.
